today inktober, referencing a beautiful shot from florash account [IG]

my gelly roll [golden color] is rebelling on me, it’s visibly full but hardly anything came out ;;A;;

Image

cropped version was uploaded on instagram. IDK WHO HE IS :)) i use a korean boy band promo pic as reference [shame on me, i don’t even know WHICH BOY BAND THEY WERE ;;A;;].

about inktober, i don’t use any prompt, it’s already good enough if i have some decent manual artworks on my sketchbook. i plan to use them as portfolio for traditional commission on BIAF 2018. Hopefuly this year some generous clients would come and ask for my skill! XD

some linearts i prepare for marker practice, but because it turns out pretty okay, do i have heart to butcher them with my markers? what if i color them wrong? :’Da

this pic is originally where i tried watercolor on my Gambart’s sketchbook. it turns out so ugly, i tried to correct them by applying gouache. But alas, i never used gouache before, thus it become like this. Background gradation looks not so smooth enough… it remind me when i first try using poster color at my middle school year. But from this experiment i think Gambart paper + watercolor might be not a good combination, but Gambart paper + gouache? maybe it can works.

So i bought mini sketchbook from Gambart [local sketchbook maker]; i trace one of Kidchan’s art from her coloring book, and use them for testing copic marker. I think it came out ok? Gambart’s paper is pretty thick but has soft texture, very pleasing to use if you are using pencil, pen, and marker. But when i try to apply watercolor on them, it doesn’t came up too well….

HAHAHAHA idk i’m so shy to post this on my other SNS but i feel fine to put this on tumblr. NagaHachi, pose and bath robe was indeed mimicking one of versace’s ads.

i really like october because people so hyped up for inktober, it’s pretty refreshing to see your timeline filled with beautiful arts.
